Nikita Robinson
Hi, I’m Nikita Robinson, a Marriage and Family Therapist intern currently earning my Master’s degree at Governors State University. I was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago and the South Suburbs, and I’ve always been deeply committed to serving my community, fighting for equity, and advocating for mental health.
I work with individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with life’s ups and downs and want to make real, lasting changes. My approach is shaped by both my personal experiences and the powerful stories people have shared with me. I believe everyone’s story is unique, and I aim to honor the strength and resilience in each person I meet.
I look at how our family histories and cultural backgrounds influence who we are and how we relate to others. I also pay close attention to how different parts of our identity, like race, gender, sexuality, and faith, interact with the world around us and affect our everyday experiences.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and never judged. I especially love working with clients who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQ+, and I welcome those who want to bring faith or spirituality into the therapy room.
In our work together, I may use a mix of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy—always in a way that fits you and feels right.
I believe healing starts when you feel truly seen, heard, and safe.
