Dr. Robina Wright-Alexander, Ed.D, LPC

Doctor of Education, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I’m Dr. Robina. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University and am also an ordained minister. I integrate a holistic, faith- informed approach when desired, honoring the mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual aspects of your life. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you reclaim your peace, power, and joy.

Many Black women go through life carrying the weight of being “strong,” often putting everyone else’s needs first while ignoring their own. This pressure can leave you feeling exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that don’t serve you. Often, these feelings show up as tension in relationships, self-doubt, or persistent stress that just won’t go away. Therapy offers a safe space to unpack these experiences, gain clarity, and develop tools to live more fully and authentically. I believe that when we understand ourselves more deeply, we can begin to respond to life with intention rather than react out of habit or expectation.

I am passionate about supporting Black women navigating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, self-image struggles, relational challenges, abuse, and life transitions. I tailor therapy to your needs, drawing from psychodynamic-interpersonal, client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and play therapy approaches to provide a comprehensive, holistic path to healing.

If you are ready to release the pressure of always “being strong” and start showing up in life as your whole, authentic self, I would be honored to work with you.
